Our Mission for Prague Ratters in Australia.
Our mission for Prague Ratters and the purpose for forming the Australian Prague Ratter Club, centres around three core goals. These make up our values and priorities for the breed.
These are also the foundation of our Breeding Principles, which all APRC members adhere to.
1. To Import and Breed Prague Ratters that represent the official International Standard of the Breed
We have developed close connections and relationships with Prague Ratter breeders worldwide for over a decade through visits, attendance of dog shows, and developing genuine friendships with the world’s best breeders. We are members of multiple international Prague Ratter clubs and are the longest breeders of Prague Ratters in Australia. We regularly import dogs so that we can constantly widen the gene pool and increase the quality of the breed.
2. To Promote the Prague Ratter breed in Australia.
We established the Australian Prague Ratter Club as a means of creating a network of like-minded owners; to represent and develop awareness of the breed in Australia; and to promote breeding programs dedicated to the maintenance of the breed standard.
3. Maintaining and advocating ethical breeding practices in accordance with Dogs Australia recommendations.
We don’t believe in capitalising on “rare” breeds. The dogs’ health and happiness is the centre of our breeding philosophy. Our litters are carefully planned to ensure that only the soundest puppies are born who are only placed in perfect, forever homes. Only approved breeders who adhere to the highest standards are accepted into our club and can use our trademarked logo.
