Our Breeding Principles.

The Club and its members are dedicated to the promotion and breeding in Australia of Prague Ratters according to the breed standard adopted by Dogs Australia directly from the The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).

Our aim is to produce puppies of outstanding quality that are typical of the breed. Parents of our puppies are:

•                     Between 20-23cm in height.

•                  Carefully selected

•                     Approved for breeding by a veterinarian (including a patella report).

•                     Breeding females only can be bred after the age of 2 years. The only exception to this rule is when importing breeding females at 18 months of age from overseas when in whelp.

A Member shall not:

(a) Supply any dog to commercial dog wholesalers or retail pet dealers. (07/14)

(b) Allow a dog owned by that member to be given as a prize or donation in a contest of any kind.

(c) Offer a dog for sale by auction through any form of media.

(d) KNOWINGLY misrepresent the characteristics and breed standard of Dogs Australia and the FCI Prague Ratter.

(e) Breed a lady that results in it whelping more than twice in eighteen months.

(These 5 Breeding Principles are written by DOGS NSW, we adopt them for our club).

The Australian Prague Ratter Club has adopted the RSPCA's policy on Responsible companion animal breeding.
