About Us.
Our club was officially established in 2015 by three Prague Ratter owners and breeders who felt that a forum was needed to share our mutual interest and make this wonderful breed more widely known in Australia. Our club was incorporated in September 2016.
The breed is very rare in Australia. Our principal aim is to breed the best Prague Ratter puppies possible that are true to the standard of the breed’s country of origin. To help with this goal we have established a data base to record the pedigrees of existing dogs and future litters. In this way we hope to assist breeders to make informed decisions for their breeding programs.
We are proud members of KPPPK which is the official governing body for Prazsky Krysarik in Europe. As you look through our website we hope you too will be entranced by these exceptionally rare and precious dogs.
Our foundation members all own several Prague Ratters - rarely is one Prague Ratter in the family enough!
Australian Prague Ratters
We are very proud members of the Czech Prague Ratter Club "Klb Pratel Psu Prazskych Krysariku" (KPPPK). As members, we are committed to maintaining the breed standard and health of Prague Ratters in Australia.
For this reason, we do not breed for specific colours or price puppies based on how rare the colour is or isn't. Every Australian Prague Ratter bred in our family is sold with a lovely temperament, matched to a family that suits his or her personality, is healthy and guaranteed to be the love of your life!
Prague Ratters are often confused for a small chihuahua or a miniature pincher, but they are a whole breed of their own! Prague Ratters are wonderful tiny companions, who will love to fall asleep on your lap or in your jumper pocket. They're also very playful and adventurous, so a Prague Ratter that gets to join you on all your daily or weekend adventures is a very happy Prague Ratter indeed!
Prague Ratters are highly intelligent and they aim to please, so they are easy to train and being so small they can come with you everywhere.

We are based on the Central Coast, between Sydney and Newcastle. Our network of trusted breeders (APRC members) are across Australia including Canberra and Melbourne.

Biccy is now nearly 6-months old and she’s my entire world. Renee was amazing. I rang her so often with questions, I wound up referring to her as our fairy dog mother. She made our puppy experience incredible, from all the photos and videos, the first time we met her (Biccy) and when we got to bring her home. We were always welcome in Renee’s family home and I’ve since been introduced to so many other Prague Ratter owners. We were sent home with blankets, kibble, toys, a bed, bag and food bowls. She left nothing out. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough to anyone if they wanted a really special (teensy) addition to the family, but also to meet some awesome dog loving people. Biccy is doing great. She’s polite, independent, but could spend forever cuddling on my lap while I work. I love her and Renee has made us very happy with this little girl. “I adopted my small red boy from Renee and she was so helpful, caring, knowledgeable and informative. She never pressured me to buy or made me feel like my MILLIONS of questions was too much. She took the time and answered every single one. She has many open references for potential puppy parents to have a chat with about their experiences and I am proud to say I am now one of the references. If you’re considering a pup we may chat soon. Chip has been nothing but a blessing and the whole adoption process was amazing from the time I arrived to meet my puppy, with freshly cooked bacon and eggs waiting for us and baking for us to take back home with us on our drive to now where I have the most wonderful well socialised healthy puppy of my own. There are many breeders who do not care for the breed standards instead choose silly things like colour over appropriate sizing, socialisation, health.
